Originally spun from the UKTV stable to replace what was UKTV G2 in 2007, Dave soon became a big success on Freeview for its mix of comedy and Top Gear repeats, as well as for its quirky branding. One such programme to appear in the schedules was the 90s BBC sitcom Red Dwarf, and on the success of this, UKTV took the bold decision to commission a series of new specials. Being the first episodes of Red Dwarf into production for 10 years, it was needless to say a heavily promoted event for such a small channel. To mark the weekend of the first broadcast, Dave produced a specially themed 'Dave Lister' set of branding and idents, with stars of the show providing snippets of invision continuity. Here Craig Charles (Lister) introduces the first of the new episodes.
